Telescoping Lifting Columns
Telescoping Lifting Columns
Telescoping lifting columns are devices with a housing and linear actuator that provide pushing/pulling force or lifting. Warehouses and manufacturing facilities frequently use telescoping lifting columns as lifts for personnel, pallets, and oversized assemblies. Telescopic lifting column assemblies from Unidex provide push/pull motion, triggering the lifting columns to retract within themselves or extend to full height. Because of the telescopic design, these units have a small footprint, and the electric or air hydraulic motors make control easy and convenient.
Read on to learn more about the unique benefits of our telescopic lifting columns, the types of products we offer, and the industries we serve.
Benefits of Telescopic Lifting Columns
Also called stacker units or personal forklifts, telescopic lifts are compact, versatile, and cost-effective solutions for lifting heavy loads. Consider these benefits of adding telescopic lifting columns to your facility’s list of equipment.
Improved Productivity
Workers can quickly access hard-to-reach or high areas and transport loads with less physical exertion. Thus, telescopic lifting mechanisms enable faster, more efficient task completion.
Streamlined Load Carrying
Telescopic lifting columns can be fitted with grippers to hold items while up high. When used as a personal forklift, they can be parked next to a hopper, loaded with a container of material, and then lifted high to unload the material into another elevated hopper.
Increased Safety
Using mechanized systems reduces physical strain on workers and the risk of injury due to repeated stooping or bending. The lifts can also safely raise and lower heavy loads and stabilize them at elevated heights.
Reduced Costs
By completing work faster, you can reduce labor costs, overhead, and project timelines. Telescopic lifts are also a more cost-effective solution than alternatives like traditional forklifts and cranes.
Increased Versatility
Every industry benefits from telescopic lifting mechanisms for production, storage, and logistics. Some of the industries we serve with specialized telescopic lifting columns are agriculture, construction, event management, general manufacturing, and repairs.
Compact and Easy to Transport
Prioritize convenience and simplicity with telescopic lifts. They’re made to lift up high (up to 120″), but they can also contract small enough to fit through doorways. The retractability allows for easy carrying and compact storage, so operators can easily store them away when they aren’t in use or move them from one place to another.
Types of Telescoping Lifts We Carry
Unidex develops telescopic lifting column assemblies that can carry up to 250 pounds, extend to eight feet or higher, and provide stability even on rough terrain. We specialize in developing material handling products that fit the needs of each of our clients. That’s why we offer a wide range of standard and specialized lifting columns.
Standard TPE Series
Our standard TPE Series telescoping workstations are a popular lifting solution for many warehouses and manufacturing centers. Each model can handle loads of up to 250 pounds and lifting heights of 98 inches. Every lift smoothly rises and retracts to transport:
- Finished components
- Pallets
- Boxes
- Rolls
- Drums
- Buckets
- Containers
- Totes
- Bins
- Raw materials
Use them to reach elevated shelves and workspaces or hard-to-reach areas around low-overhead structures and doorways. Each standard model has ergonomically designed handles for continual use without repetitive stress injuries or strain.
In addition to the TPE Series, we also offer the PH Series, which has a center lift supported by two tubes, and the UMR Series, an overhead bridge crane-mounted manipulator with two tubes.
UNIDEX TPE Series Mobile Electric Workstations
These ergonomic electric workstations offer easy-to-use extension and retraction for managing 250-pound loads. Their compact design has a 24″ x 36″ footprint with a height range of 15″ to 120″ at full extension. This series of telescopic lift columns is designed for tasks that are performed frequently during a shift. The standard features of these models include:
- DC motor powered by a 12V lead acid battery
- Battery charger with automatic shutoffs and charge status meters
- Handrail with clip-mounted remote pendant control
- Four 5″ casters: two fixed casters at the front and two locking swivel casters at the rear
- Custom enclosure holds hydraulic power unit, battery, and charger
- Bolt plate for adding standard or custom fixtures
- No scissor construction, allowing for more visibility and access to shelves below the raised platform
Telescoping Lift Options
Upgrade your standard lift with some of our premium options, including:
- Custom fixtures and devices, such as workholders, load engagement tools, grippers, rotators, and more
- Conveyor, ball transfer, or tilt tables
- Modifications for frames, lift speed, lift stroke, and load capacities
- Stainless steel construction
Telescoping Lift Column Applications
Put your telescopic lifting columns to work for virtually any application that requires smooth lifting power. Common industrial applications include:
- Building aircraft assemblies
- Repairing or maintaining engine blocks and vehicle bodies
- Moving boxes, crates, or pallets to and from high warehouse shelves
- Handling, producing, and storing heavy machinery components
